Estate Sale Shopper Policies
General shopping rules for Haul and Found estate sales. Posted rules at a specific sale control when they differ.
All merchandise is offered as-is
Unless a different policy is posted or applicable law requires otherwise, estate-sale merchandise is offered as-is and where-is. Buyers should inspect condition, completeness, dimensions, fit, and operation before purchase. Haul and Found does not provide certified appraisals or guarantees of age, documented history, authenticity, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
Sales and refunds
Sales are final unless a different policy is posted at the sale or applicable law requires a remedy. Accepted payment methods and any payment restrictions are posted at each sale.
Sales tax
Michigan sales tax is collected on taxable retail sales when required. A purchaser claiming an exemption must provide acceptable exemption documentation before the sale is treated as exempt.
Entry and conduct
Entry may be limited for safety, occupancy, property protection, or crowd control. Shoppers must follow posted directions, remain in public sale areas, supervise minors, and avoid opening areas marked private or restricted. Haul and Found may deny entry or require a person to leave for unsafe, disruptive, threatening, unlawful, or property-damaging conduct.
Moving purchases
Buyers are responsible for measuring, loading, securing, and removing purchases by the stated deadline unless the sale expressly offers another arrangement. Staff may decline an unsafe moving method. Buyers should bring appropriate help, tools, vehicles, padding, and tie-down equipment.
Holds and abandoned purchases
Items are not held without an approved arrangement. Paid items left beyond the posted pickup deadline may be handled according to the sale-specific posted policy and applicable law.
Personal property and vehicles
Shoppers are responsible for their own belongings and vehicles. Parking must follow posted signs, local law, and neighbor access requirements. Do not block driveways, hydrants, mailboxes, sidewalks, or emergency access.
Safety
Estate-sale properties may include stairs, uneven surfaces, low clearances, garages, basements, exterior areas, and other ordinary residential conditions. Shoppers should use reasonable care and follow posted restrictions.

Sale-specific questions should be directed to Haul and Found using the contact information posted for the sale.
